eSIM Has Signal but No Internet: The Tavi Support Checklist

Signal bars prove that the phone can see a network. They do not prove that the travel eSIM is selected for mobile data or permitted to use a roaming partner. Work through these checks in order.

1. Select the travel line for cellular data

On iPhone, open Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data and choose the Tavi line. On Android, open SIM Manager or Mobile Network settings and select the travel eSIM for mobile data. Turn off automatic data switching while testing so the phone does not silently fall back to the primary SIM.

2. Enable data roaming on the Tavi line

Travel eSIMs usually connect through partner networks, so roaming must be enabled on the travel line. This does not create extra Tavi charges because the plan is prepaid. Keep roaming off on the primary line if you want to avoid home-carrier data charges.

3. Force a fresh network registration

Turn Airplane Mode on for 15 seconds and turn it off. Wait several minutes. If data still fails, restart the phone. First registration after landing can take longer than ordinary reconnection.

4. Check the simple limits

5. Contact support with useful evidence

Send the order email, destination, phone model, whether signal is visible and which steps above were completed. Do not email the QR code or full activation code. Tavi can then match the order and escalate the carrier-side issue without exposing installation credentials.

Why this order? Choosing the data line and enabling roaming solve configuration problems first. A network reset or provider escalation comes later because it is more disruptive.
