Why Is My Travel eSIM Slow? A Measured Troubleshooting Guide
A slow connection is different from no connection. If pages eventually load, roaming is already working and the cause is more likely local radio conditions, congestion, network selection or a plan limitation.
Run a fair test
Turn off VPN, stop large background downloads and test outdoors or near a window. Record the time, location, connected network and whether the phone shows 4G or 5G. One speed test is not enough to prove a persistent carrier problem.
Compare location and time
Airport terminals, stations, stadiums and dense city centres can be congested even with full signal bars. Test again in a different place or outside peak hours before changing settings.
Try network selection carefully
Automatic selection is normally best because the profile chooses an allowed partner. If support provides approved alternatives, try one at a time and wait for registration. Do not assume every visible network is included in the plan.
Check the plan and phone
- Confirm data remains and the validity period has not ended.
- Check whether hotspot use or a fair-use threshold applies to the selected plan.
- Temporarily choose LTE/4G if unstable 5G repeatedly drops the data session.
- Restart the phone before resetting all network settings.
What to send support
Include destination, approximate location, time, phone model, connected network, radio type and two or three test results. Do not include the QR code or activation secret. This evidence helps distinguish device configuration from a local carrier issue.
Contact support@taviesim.com with the order email, destination and phone model. Never send a QR code or complete activation secret.
